Hi. Nice forum you have here, loads of great stuff.
This is my first go at a pedal. It's a rat clone with a case and knobs I've made in steel. It sounds great (more luck than judgement) and will get plenty of use in my pub rock band ;O)

Very cool. You made the enclosure yourself? Must be 3-4mm steel? Heavy stuff;)
Fantastic man, I'm loving this.
Nice box, remind me the Guv'nor Marshall MKI.
Well done !

Very cool build! With some extra non funtional metal scrap, that could be made into a real steam punk looking pedal, if that'd be your thing.
Very cool enclosure! It does have that Marshall Shredmaster/bluesbreaker/guvnor/drivemaster mk I vibe for sure.
Great work mate, DIY at it's finest and welcome to a great pedal forum. I reckon you could fund this habit by selling those enclosures and handmade knobs, very nice, all the best, Matt.
Very impressive. You've definitely got metal skillz. Looking forward to your next builds.
You've got to tell us more about making the case and knobs.
Hey what a friendly response. Cheers.
Funny enough I do have a Guv'nor mk1, well spotted. I think the case construction is similar to the rat with just a bit more slope.
I made it out of 2mm steel. Starting with the base I made a cardboard template, then marked that out on the metal. Cut the steel with a grinder and filed the edges square. Folded the steel in a big old vice with a hammer. The top was made to suit the base. I then welded some tags on the top for the screws. The knobs were turned up on my lathe from steel bar, drilled and taped with a 3mm allen grub screw to keep them snug.
Devon, UK?
Very nice as the other guys have said, love the enclosure.
i am impressed with that enclosure and those knobs! now that is DIY.
Nice work! Love the military grade case.

Wow that is slick. Love the welded nuts on there. Very pro looking. If time and materials were not too bad, you might have a market in selling them.
this is Awesome love the enclosure are those germanium diodes i see in that rat?
Holy COW! That's definitely the most rugged "1st build" I have ever seen. It isn't bullet proof, its nuclear holocaust proof! Nice job!

Yeah. You can toggle between two sets of socketed diodes. I've got germanium and standard at the mo. Not sure I can tell much difference except for volume levels. It's a work in progress and I'm looking forward to trying leds, mosfets and no diodes at all.
Gave it a proper test in band practice today. Yes indeedy that rips out some serious meat. Big grin on.
To tell you the truth, usually in distortion pedals like the rat i like good old fashioned silicon diodes.
No diodes for pure op-amp clipping for some filthy mess is always nice...
And once again, Devon UK? might have seen you!
Excellent work sir! 8)

No kidding. It looks like you could run over that with a tank.
Tank proof! Chortle.
Agreed about the silicon diodes. Wasn't so keen on the diode free sound. I'm working on an OCD next so maybe save the mosfet goodness for that.
Yeah Devon UK. Buckfastliegh. Hi.
