I'm running MN3005s and want the best possible tone, so of course I'm looking at the 15v option...
...but my PSU has 16v outs. Can I just hook it up to those without the added complexity of a charge pump? Call me lazy :P
You might want to regulate it down to 15V. I'm not %100 sure, but if there's even the slightest chance you'll blow your expensive chips with too much voltage...

18V is terminal but 16V is still above max recommended so i'd avoid it, over an extended period of time it could cause issues.
You could use a 12V regulator, it'd be an improvement over 9V even if not quite 15V, or look in to a low drop out 15V regulator.
Looks like the consensus is just to get off my keister and wire up a Road Rage then. ;)
I do have outputs that will do 12v, but from what I'm reading, 15v worth of headroom is one of the main upgrades of the MN3005 over the MN3205. Might as well get the most out of these $$ chips.
