I got a call from my grandma a few minutes ago. Normally I don't like phone calls with her because they last SO long. But this one was quite interesting.
She wants me to build her a couple pedals. What makes it even cooler is she specifically asked for a klon! :o 8)
Now who here has been asked by a 90 year old lady to build a klon and a chorus for em? ;D
add some distortion to the Bingo callers mic ;D
But for reals, that's killer dude.
Well why????

Well why????
For her guitar of course ;D
She plays a bit of everything with strings.
My g ma plays as well, though she's at the point now where she doesn't remember she plays.
One day I have to remember to kick my dads ass for some of the holes he put in her pre war acoustics and selling her Silverface.
Man, if I make it to 90, I really hope I can still identify a guitar out of a lineup, much less still play it!
thats pretty awesome man.
That is sooooooooooo cool man!
And your Grandma ís´nt old She is VINTAGE!!!
Your grandma rocks! She would gain even more coolness if she came to the shooting range with you, I would pay money to see that!! My grandmothers lived to the ripe old age of 92 and 95 respectively, but they wouldn't have made it that far if they'd ever seen me play with the band.......

Haha. How much money we talkin? ;D She probably would come to the range with me, but I don't think I would let her shoot much more than the .22 or the AR-15.
Maybe she has been hanging out at TGP.
My grandmother liked Hendrix, I always thought that was cool BUT if she asked me to build her an Octavia so she could play Hendrix that would have been awesome.
Well I feel a bit stupid. :-[ She's actually 79 years old. When I said 90 I was just spitballin'
Still though, that's pretty awesome to have her ask for a klon.
I bet this the longest thread about a Grandma on this forum ever!!! How about some sounds clips of Grandma shredding a klone! No seriously, she sounds like a hip chic!

I'll definitely post a vid. No shredding though. She plays super simple churchy music.
What kind of guitar does she play? Flying V?

Nevertheless, it's pretty impresive for a 79 year old woman to play the guitar, and actually ask for specific pedals to rock! ;)
Be happy to have her! :)

Well if she is playing at church she won't be needing a reverb.

There's no natural reverb in this church. It's a tiny podunk southern baptist church.
I bet she rocks then if it's southern baptist
Easily the coolest thing I've seen in a LONG time. Awesome. 8)
Oh, and she plays like Bob Dylan. ;D
That right there...is real mojo.
I don't mean the Klon(e). I mean the happiness you just brought each other. Gran was tickled pink to have it, you were happy to oblige her.
Proud Gran.
Proud Granson.
No card table needed.
This is the best thing I've seen all day.
Ultra cool!

Someone I know having a noodle in an empty church. Reverb-tastic.
So cool Mike! You should name a circuit after her or something. It's really great that you have this on video. What a treasure.
Cool!
Yea. Its a trip seeing her play a klon.
NOS guitar players add so much toan. ;D. She is a much better player than in the video, but she was quite nervous in front of the camera.

Totally get it. Speak to large groups of people every day on a regular basis. Freeze up in my public speaking class every time I give a speech.
I'm crushed :'( She says she doesn't really like it. I showed her how to use the dirt channel on her crate amp and she says she likes that more :o :-[ :'( :-\
She said it sounds like its adding static to the sound. I had to explain that's not static, it's an overdrive. ::)

Aw, sorry to hear that. But it sounds like your Granny had a typical gear journey: GAS for a highly desirable rare product, inevitable disappointment in its performance. Tell her she should post about it at The Gear Page.
