Title: Panasonic ECQ-V Caps
Post by: mattc on January 30, 2014, 01:12:31 PM
I have some of the little red ECQ-V caps lying around, and I like using them, so I thought I'd order more.   When I go to Mouser the only ones that come back are these (I picked a random value):

http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Panasonic/ECQ-V1H104JL/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMv1cc3ydrPrF%252bfZ13WJ%2fr1%2fEY9wPof57Ts%3d

Mouser lists these as "AC Pulse, Suppression" caps.   Are these the right caps for pedal building, or should I be looking for something else?

Thanks in advance!

Yep, those are the ones you want.

Those are they. AC Pulse/Suppression is their official function. If Mouser put "Toan" instead, I would venture to say they'd sell 50x as many ::) Unless you're a fan of crimped leads, avoid part #'s ending in w, 3, or 9.

Thank you Gents!

For the "toan" thing... I've also been buying the Nichicon audio grade electrolytics.   I don't think they will sound any better, but the gold and black sure looks cool   :o
