Well... i got it on friday, but here's the Gretsch 5122 that i bought DCountry13.
What an awesome guitar it is. :D
Went to pick up the box, came back home, take it out of there (wich was a task, REALLY REALLY well packed, thanks for that Rob), open the case and let it warm up.
Stretched the strings a bit, tuned it and lets................ROCK!
This guitar is perfectly setup, just need fresh strings.
One cool thing about the TOM rosewood base is that i have some small brass studs holding it to the guitar top, so you can take of all the strings at once for proper cleaning and don't mess the intonation. Fantastic.

After couple hours of playing i removed the pickguard, shite was rattling forever when hitting the lower strings, does look better to me too.

Thanks, i never thought i'd have one that fast either..., really because i really got a nice deal including shipping from NY to Can... otherwise... i would have probably only got one at my retirement...
Totally worth it tho.., the stock GretschBucker are quite fun, chances are that this is the only guitar i own that will remain stock, working the electronics of these seem to be a major PITA...
I am not a bigsby fan but on that finish it looks great. Those pickups look awesome, I have been dying to try some. Last time I went to Guitar Center I could not get a 12 year old to stop player Slayer long enough for me to test one. I miss the days of personal isolation rooms in stores. They don't exist in Fresno anymore.
That looks like a whole lotta fun! Congrats.
Don't change it. It's perfect!
Damn... That's a beautiful guitar dude.

A 12 years old playing some Slayer, Amen, my faith in humanity is back! ;D

I definetly think you're right, really dig this guitar as is.
Yeehaw!! Congrats on the Gretsch. I have a 6118T Jr with the stock Filtertron pups and I absolutely love the thing. Great looking guitar and I'm sure it's got the tonez!

That's a fine piece of geetar you got there! I personally think it looks better with the pickguard, but if it's rattling, it has to go!!!
Paul
Sometime when you get a new piece of gear, you think that everything is awesome because of the excitement of the moment, creating an illusion... that when you step back is finally pretty lame. But it's not the case here! hahaha Truly bounding with that piece of awesomeness!
Need.More.Gretsch.
Man, that is a cool guitar.
I like it!
I resist, for now 8)
