Title: Road Rage
Post by: PhiloB on March 30, 2014, 07:37:07 PM
Can I feed the Road Rage 12V and use the 18v out?
Or does it just accept 9v?

If the charge pump you are using will accept 12v then you should get about 23v or so out.

Thanks Brian.  Was thinking about building the GGG 4 isolated output power supply and including  a 12v output transformer but didn't want (2) 12v outs.  Also don't need a 23v output either.
Thanks again for quick response.

Well, nobody needs 23v out, but dude!

If you use the LT1054, replace the 7815 voltage regulator with a 7818, and feed the RoadRage with 12V, the 15V output from the RoadRage will become an 18V output.

It'll be wasting a bit of power though because of the two linear regulators involved, so the total current available at that tap won't be the 80mA or so the LT1054 can source.
