Not sure if it's your intention, but the name is bringing up memories on midnight showings of "Heavy Metal" at the local theater when I was a kid! Great build Rej! It's been long enough since you've done that style of enclosure engraving that I forgot about it. Very cool!

Glad that they made their way :)

I use my dremel with metal cutting wheel, it's all about the grind!

Rej,

AWESOME work. I guess I should put my dremel away now and stick to the buffing wheel...

A side question if you don't mind?, where did you get that bezel for that large of an LED (8mm?)

Hmmm... i remember that a while ago, Juansolo had use some for a built and it ended that couple guys bought some from him, some sort of mini groupbuy for giant bezels.

Don't remember where he was sourcing them.

It'll have been either Farnell (Newark) or Rapid. Can't remember which, it was a while back. They are MAHOOSIVE.

Simply awesome Rej. How labor intensive was it? The outcome is great.

I also have some 10mm LEDs and bezels I bought but have not put them to use.. one day.. one day.

Thanks Cody :)

This is my generic enclosure for the CleanBoost that i sell so i'm used to make them.

I usually do them in batch of 5, because it how long a Dremel blade will last, maximum  5 minutes per enclosure... the first i ever did took me 30minutes i beleive i was so overlooking everything.... with time i've learned to just do them with the flow, hardest/fastest beating i can give them without busting the blade. Because that happened couple time.

If you try this at home (lol), wear safety goggles and wear kevlar fiber gloves, you never know when the blade will gripe and run on your hand (don't ask me why i know).

And it might not be a good idea to do this where you have wood saw dust and the like.... it's grinding metal after all. ;)

Rej, that looks so cool! I didn't even know what I was looking at. It looks like you made an enclosure out of dinosaur hide! Is all that dremel work the inspiration for the name Grind Customs?

Thanks!

Grind Customs name was there before i started doing this enclosure finish.

To make a long story short, i'm a former luthier, followed an intensive 6months course when i finished my High School. When i first launched GrindCustoms 5 years ago, i was mainly doing guitar customization for the Metulz crowd. I then stepped into guitar designing. Tried to launch my line of guitar but it turned out to be close to impossible because of the money involved to make that project real and because i HATE to make buisness with banks, i need to own what i do. Through all that, i got into pedal building for my personnal need and was posting that stuff on my ancient facebook page that had a good load of fans, the word spread out and i got really busy in this market niche.

At first i was thinking of building pedals and turn the profit to self-finance my guitar line but.... ...but the pedals have really take me over and i prefer to work in that sector of activitie instead of guitar building. I still do guitar job for many people here locally but it's not my main focus anymore.
