Just wondering if anyone could identify what old Brian is using in the intro to this live version of Taste in Men? Kicks in around the 1:30 mark.

Sounds like a synth part of the time. There was control voltage tracking back in the 70s and the synth tracking has gotten better. Definite filter sweeps in there.. Sounds really cool.

Short answer, I don't have a clue...

That's an EHX microsynth. I have one and I know I've heard that exact sound out of it when I've messed with different settings.
