Title: King Tut build
Post by: selfdestroyer on April 05, 2014, 10:00:04 PM
Just finished this up this morning and I am extremely happy with it. Not only did Rully do a fantastic job on the layout but this thing just simply rocks!

The pictures just don't do it justice. The aluminum color etch with the gold paint is hard to capture with my camera but you get the idea. The knobs I used are brown but they look black in the picture.

This is permanently on my board as of this morning. Love this thing.

Any tips for sanding after painting? I can't see that you've disrupted the paint in any way when sanding back the raised portions - so slick.  8)

That looks phenomenal, Cody. The etch, graphics, wiring, are all top notch. Glad you dig the sounds too.  One of these days you guys will make me give etching another try. :)

This made me get my King Tut out and play again. It is a great sounding pedal. Try driving it with a Rangemaster or Kingslayer in front. Lead toanz for days.

I found that the matte and flat paints can cure faster and work best. The past, I have tried glossy paints and it seems like they will not cure fully and will turn black from the wet sand paper. I use a small wood block and 1000 to 1400 grit wet sand paper and just take my time. After I am done I shoot the whole enclosure with a matte clear. Hope this helps.

I will definitely try that. I have one of Rully's  Naga Viper PCBs that may be perfect for that.
