Title: Boneyard IC2 substitutes
Post by: small fish on April 07, 2011, 10:04:36 PM
Hi,
I was wondering, if I could use a ICL7660SCPA (which is lying around here) as a substitute for the IC2 used in the Boneyard.

Possible or not?
To interchange this IC with the sunking is possible - anything wrong, if I replace the original TC1044?
Sound / voltage / ???

tia

carsten

http://uk-electronic.de/onlineshop/product_info.php/products_id/447?osCsid=7e0637b3176776acc591421be78bab1f (http://uk-electronic.de/onlineshop/product_info.php/products_id/447?osCsid=7e0637b3176776acc591421be78bab1f)

It´s a german shop. I´ve ordered one from banzai (also germany), but they sent me the wrong ones (with the high pitch noise - 7660ACPAZ). UK-Electronic sent the right ones (actually SCPAZ, but they work fine - and even for 1/3 of the price at Banzai).

Dont´t know if they´ll ship worldwide?? Ask Uwe (uk-electronic), he´s a real friendly guy!

what ever you do avoid using the 7660 with the "cpa" suffix instead of the "scpa" suffix or you'll get an awfull super high frequency squealing that is constant. the sound is just about into dog whistle territory. :o

Just a guess, but a TL074 might work for IC1.  check the datasheets for the pinouts.

TL074 does have the same pinout. I imagine you could also use TL064 as well.
