Title: More High End Sparkle from the Spackler
Post by: mjcyates on April 11, 2011, 01:07:56 AM
I built one of these to add some middy thickness to my strat lead tone. It certainly does that but I would like to add just a touch of high end sparkle while maintaining the thick mids. Anyone know of a mod to achieve this?

try removing C3 (or decreasing the value it if you can get an even smaller cap), since it forms a low pass filter with R4 and the gain pot... but C3 is really small so the notch frequency might be really large. worth a shot though.

you might also try decreasing C1. try maybe 10n to start, but you'll likely need to play around with it. this will decrease the amount of bass going into the input of the circuit.

it's a little tricky with this design to add treble without messing around with the rest of the frequency response too much.

Thanks for your ideas.

I was afraid that might be the case.
