Title: Wird Lowrider Issue
Post by: Azagaroth on May 28, 2014, 06:57:14 PM
Hi members.

I just finished the lowrider pedal and tested it via a prototyping rig ala Brian (great tool by the way).
It worked like a charm and is a great effect.
I made it for my guitarist and after he checked it it and and liked it I wanted to put it in a box.

So far so good.
Now  my problem is that after I put it in a box I tested it again and something strange occurred.
When the clean knob is all the way up there is no Octave at all (neither octave up nor 1 + 2 down), but with the octave up on full there is fuzz but no octave.

So when I turn the clean knob all the way down there is fuzz to but no really prominent octave with the octave up set to 10.

The same with the two octaves down. when I dial em in it is more like I dial in more bass frequencies rather than octaves.

I hope this makes sense in some way.

Thanks in advance

If it worked before boxing it, then I would look again very carefully at your wiring and also if the PCB is contacting and areas on the pots. A wayward grounding on the PCB could cause you to lose part of the signal path. Also, check at least the power and ground pins of the ICs to make sure they are getting 9v/0v.

Hi Brian,
thanks for the tip.
I just took the PCB out and tried it again with the prototyping board.
Now the PCB has the same problem when its out of the box than before when it was boxed up so my wiring should be all right I guess.

My meter is broken so I guess I just switch the ICs and look what happens.
Just have to wait till they arrive.

cheers
