Title: Soldering station deal
Post by: Leevibe on May 29, 2014, 01:28:17 PM
I saw this 60w digital soldering station (http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/21-10115?scode=EMC377&trk_msg=CD63LCL5LHI4H9PL5ILAJBBLMS&trk_contact=BVM9DRK0RLPLDHSQQ8VQPG241C&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=Email&utm_term=21-10115&utm_campaign=EMC377_dadderGradz&utm_content=EMC377_dadderGradz) on sale for $40. It looks like it gets decent reviews. Anybody used one? This looks like a great step up for anyone who is still using the radio shack cheapie. I promise I'm not an MCM shill. :)

Make sure the digital read out temp is accurate, if the tip temp and the read out don't match, you got problems. One would think that in this case you just turn up the temp but the "good deal"  I bought had no more juice and I had to send it back. I finally settled on an Aouye 9378 station, it was a package deal came with ten tips. I've been pretty happy with it so far.
