Post by: junkemail86 on June 11, 2014, 01:50:15 AM
where I was like: "Damn, my tone is good today!"  :)
i was playing my old Ibanez RG550-->Fulldrive clone at pretty low gain-->Compulator clone-->Sea Urchin-->Rub a Dub Deluxe-->DSL401

anybody ever feel that way?  i think i'm having more and more of these moments as my building addiction progresses

Yes, with three out of those four circuits in a multi. Love it! Just got a Fulldrive board so I'll check that out too!

I've had those blissed out moments and then found the exact same bliss enducing combo the next day now sounds way less then satisfactory... the chase never ends...

I love those moments.  I tend to find this happens once I have been playing for X amount of time (usually an 1 hour-ish).  I always thought it was because me & my gear had warmed up, but a sound engineer friend seems to think its more a result of the air in the room heating up and effecting the soundwaves, like with band rehearsal and for the same reason.  Probably a combination of all 3.

What's even better is when, during practice, you sound thin and shitty through the Twin... and on the day, despite your worrying, it sounds glorious, despite no settings or gear having changed. (It's all in God's hands, because Lord knows it's not through any skill of my own!)
