Title: Circuit designers.....Step Filter/Sample and Hold?
Post by: peAk on June 11, 2014, 05:49:00 PM
First, let me say that I realize that the Sharkfin has a sample and hold section and it's pretty cool but I just think there is so much more you can do with this type of effect. Of course, a tap tempo makes it more useable for live use but even without that it seems you could get some pretty crazy stuff going. As of now, I use DAW plugins to create this type of effect.

I realize step filters are a little out there for a lot of guitar players and probably many feel that this should be left for synths but I have to imagine that there are also many people out there that like the whacky, tripped-out effects as well.

Are there any DIY circuits out there that have this or any interest with designing this? From what I can tell on the sites I have bought pcbs from, there is a lack of this style effect.

Thoughts?

Yeah, something like that would be great. Obviously, it wouldn't have to be as complex as the Moog but something in that direction.
