Title: OCD v3
Post by: Hexjibber on June 15, 2014, 07:47:47 PM
OCD v3 on Poodle Parts PCB.

Artwork was at request of my mate who it's for, its Nemesis The Warlock from 2000AD for any who haven't a clue what it is, I didn't to begin with!

Love the knobs you used on this one. Very clean insides also.

Cheers Cody! Pretty pleased with the outcome of this one, sounds good at least! Have to admit it's not my taste in terms of artwork but hopefully my mate will be pleased!

This looks great! I really like the OCD but of course still need to box mine.

Can I ask, how much do you sand your enclosures, and with what grit? I want to get a similar look for something I'll be boxing soon. I really like this look of a bare metal enclosure with aluminum knobs. I'm not set up to etch, but I think I could get a similar look with a simple waterslide graphic if I already have the enclosure sanded similarly to yours.

Cheers,

Bret

Nice looking build.   Did you put something in D2?

Hi Bret,

I wet sand mine with 400 grit, no hard and fast rules as to how much other than until I can't see any little pits or blemishes. I used to start at 400 and go all the way up 2000 in increments of 200 but soon found that just using 400 was ample for etching.

Hope that helps man!

Thanks man! I chose to omit D2 as that would made it the V4 version of the OCD which is a little fizzy for my tastes.

Good deal, I thought you had to jumper it to get V3, but I am not up on my OCD versions.  I personally like my NanoDriver/oshpark board with only opamp clipping.  I have 1n914's/off/2n7000+1n34 on a on/off/on DPDT
