Sounds like Jimi's got the same problem as me.

Commonly overheard in my house

Me - "(So and so) just (had a kid/got married/bought a house/etc.)"

My wife - "Give me details"

Me - "That's the whole story, why would I ask more?"

Of course, it So and so had bought a guitar, I'd have the year, pickups, fretwire spec, string gauge, and condition burned into my mind, clearly my brain chooses to retain the information it deems pertinent to my existence.
