According to the pinout, I'm seeing the the tlc2262 and the tlc2272 are identical. Am I wrong?
Right. They share the same layout as most dual op amps in DIP8 (TL072, JRC4558, etc.)
(Edit: So the pinout is identical. Of course, the TLC2262 is a low-power version just like the TL062, and other details differ.)

Thanks, the sparkle horn docs say the 2262 is harmonically a better choice but the 2272 looked identical to me.
The pinouts are the same and for some circuits they can be interchanged, but they are different from each other. The TLC2272 and TLC2262 are pretty analogous to the TL072 and the TL062. the 72 version is the lower noise with better AC performance and the 62 is optimized for lower power. The TLC2272 and TLC2262 are both rail-to-rail on the output and you should get the improved headroom from either. The TLC2272 would probably be better in a clean audio circuit, but I've got no idea which would sound better in a distortion setting. I have tested the TLC2272 in a couple of distortion circuits and it's a good sounding IC.
2262 or 2272 is fine. These are different than the TLC272, which is what I was using in the prototype. Easy to confuse given the numbering is so similar.

cool mang. The 2262 was what was listed be I found the 2272 at tayda.
