Title: The Voltages Thread (Hopefully)
Post by: RobA on August 27, 2014, 04:36:29 PM
I brought up the idea a bit ago of having a dedicated thread for known good voltages for the projects. It seemed at least some folks thought it might help, but then I got sidetracked and it went to the back of my mind. Anyway, I still think it could be a useful resource and I just happen to have to voltages for my Stage Fright (which by-the-way, I love) sitting at hand, so here goes.

Great idea.  And nice job starting with the build that is my white whale, I have successfully f'd up three stage frights with the fourth on the way (two were me trying to  make things "better", and one's possessed).

I'm feeling pretty good about my Doppelganger. It's Ian/AlanP's 2.1d board.

-all ICs TLxxxCN
-all LEDs light up the same intensity
-rates on 1 o'clock
-spans, color, blend maxed
-square, slow to the right
-antiphase, true up
-phase on (I think  ::) )
-one lfo (green LEDs light in unison, I suppose that's one lfo?)

Maybe a mod could sticky this so it gets more views and posts.

can someone post a SHO voltages??

might be worth creating a google spreadsheet or something that is linked to a sticky?

Rob, what are the pots positions that yield those voltages? Everything dimed?

Maybe the new one will play nice and go together easily. If you don't mind telling, what were you working on to make it better? I've put the CV control connections in mine, but haven't gotten around to doing anything with it yet.

It's been a bit since I took them and I can't remember where I had it set. If it's like I normally do, then it would either be with both at noon, or with "balls" at noon and "speed" at zero.

Mine also has the Univibe mod caps in there right now, but I doubt that'll change the voltage readings.

I've finished up my Harbinger build and took the measurements for the voltages, so here they are. A few notes, I've subbed for most of the transistors, BC550, BC517, and a FJN598J for the JFET. The oscillator pair are 2N5088 though. I've got it done with the filter board as I'm using an 18V brick to power it. The readings were taken with the Intensity all the way up and the gain trimmer in the middle. I don't actually know where the offset trimmer is because I've got a multi-turn trimmer in there and I can't see where it's at. ~ ==> oscillating.

I took the readings on my Naughty Fish to put up in another thread, so I figured I should drop them in here.

Mine's the 2014 version. I don't think that'll make a difference.

Pots are both at 12:00. Toggles are set to LP, Down, Hi

The input voltage is at 9.25V

Resistor side both pins at 0V

Vactrol 2:
   1   6.48V
   2   4.93V

If a voltage read less than 1mV, I put it at zero.
