Title: Analogman buffer schematic?
Post by: harpplayer on September 03, 2014, 05:41:09 PM
Anyone has it? Would like to know what are the extras to a common buffer. Tks!

Never heard of that buffer, google does not seem to know any schematics for it either.
From what I have been seeing, "aclaimed" buffers are usually just textbook circuits. There is really not much to them. All they are supposed to do is provide a high impedance input and low impedance output, while passing the signal.

A regular opamp buffer will do that fine (Ex Klon buffer). Not sure if there are any benefits of going into anything fancier.

Honestly, the analogman web site (http://www.analogman.com/buffer.htm) tells you exactly what they do: Tube Screamer-style transistor input buffer into a 4558 op amp output buffer.  Between that and the information on the AMZ buffer site (http://www.muzique.com/lab/buffers.htm), you should be able to recreate a reasonable facsimile.  Bonus points if you can read the resistor color codes in the photos.

i have a simple and useful buffer pcb transfer i you want it, its a low parts dual buffer

There is a Cornish buffer that Brian posted in the extra projects page if that helps

this its the dual buffer i talked about, its really simple and common buffer, has no extras, and works like hell

Thanks Copachino for posting that. Here is one I am working on that I still need to test. I hope to get this tested this week in a Ernie Ball VP Jr I am working on.
