Title: Anyone for Trumpet?
Post by: Guitarmageddon on September 09, 2014, 12:35:09 AM
Just finished this multi-effects box for a trumpet player...

It's a preamp, Delay, Analogue Flanger (Current Lover) and Reverb.

Guts are a complete mess, this one was cobbled together with considerable consultation, trial and error to get it working well with the mic & powered monitor system the dude uses.

Etch is Miles, his Bitches Brew album being one of the primary inspirations for this rig.

I must admit, despite my reluctance to take this job on, it turned out sounding great. Reverb and delay were no-brainers, but Flanger on trumpet is an incredible sound. 8)

Yes on both counts!

We're used to see two tone etches, what you achieve with tonal gradation in your etches raises it to another level altogether! Wow!

This is amazing. The detail in the etch is just perfect.
Any chance on a sound demo with the trumpet? I'd love to hear that

That is sweet and I'd love to hear the trumpet player through it! I would have had to write 'Mother f#$%er' on it some where as that was every other word out of Miles' mouth :)

I was stuck for a name for it, so "Motherf#$%er" it is!  Miles sure had quite a way with words. ;D

That's killer.  I passed your FB post on to a trumpet playing friend.  He was stoked, too.
