Today I am 9 years sober, I still haven't felt any better since I quit smoking and drinking, but I remember stuff now. 8-)
Congrats! I have a few friends who are sober and their lives have never been better. Very proud of anyone who sees a problem and finds a better way to live.
Congratulations!
Congrats Jimi. It is a true sign of strength especially sticking to it during tough times.
Congrats man! Who needs drinking when the solder fumes get us to unexpected places...
Congratulations Jimi, keep up the effort.

I know right, it's been a rough 6 mos. and after 8 and a half years, she's divorcing me. Here's to new beginnings and a brighter future. At this point I honestly couldn't be happier.
That's a huge milestone, congratulations!
That is freaking awesome, dude!
Good job Jimi!
I have family members that did the same and it amazes me the strength it takes to do it.

way to go, big J.!
i can't relate but I know a huge accomplishment when I see it.
congrats!!!
Big congrats! I'll have 4 in December. Only wish I had done it sooner.
Congrats, Jimi :) Will raise a cup of tea in your honor toward another 9 years.
Congrats, Jimi, that's a tremendous accomplishment. Here's to another nine! Cheers.
Hey, congrats man. That's really a huge accomplishment, looking temptation in the face and telling it "screw you, I run my own life." Lots of people can't do that. You're a bigger man for it.
Congratulations Jimmy! What huge deal. Keep strong brother... One day at a time.
I'm at 4.5 years:) Plan to see 9 at some point. And thanks for sharing, it is an encouragement!

Jimi-That rules! I'm coming up on 6. Sounds like you're doing super well and obviously everyone here is stoked for you. Here's to 90 More.
Awesome man! Can only agree to what everyone else said!
Kia kaha = Stand strong!
Good for you bro. Keep at it!
Congrats Jimi! I know it's tough. I quit smoking about nine years ago and have a little over one year of sobriety under my belt. I'm also glad you've stayed clean through stressful times. Keep it up!
Massive respect and admiration for you Jimi.
Well done Jimi! I bet you feel so much better for it! I used to drink a fair bit due to making my own wine and cider, but I'm more or less tee total now and feel so much healthier.

Nope, not really BUT I remember everything now. The blackouts were a bitch.
Awesome!
You guys have been so supportive, I really appreciate you. I really means a lot to me.
Congrats Jimi. Given the stress you're under it's a nice testament to inner strength. That and soldering those bloody little smt components is enough to drive anybody... ;D
You're certainly an inspiration around these parts.
Way to go Jim! Great to hear.
I'm not sure if this is something people on here need, but if you feel you have an addiction problem, please get help. I've never met a person in recovery who has regretted starting that hard road.

Agreed. Every friend of mine who has sobered up is much better off and most wish that they'd started earlier.
What an awesome community this is! The amount of of support and class I see displayed on this forum on a daily basis is incredible, especially considering the medium. I mean, the comments thread on any given CNN story is ww3 compared to our little eden. No point here, just glad to be a part of it.
Hear, hear!
Thank goodness you did that and still do it. Glad you are here. You are strong and matter.
You're good man Jimi.
Sorry to hear your lady took off...Not worth messing up your life over...
You will find a better woman.
Dan.
