Title: Need help with Bonamassa FF
Post by: mjcyates on September 18, 2014, 12:58:33 AM
So I built the Bonamassa Fuzz Face using the board from Panos. I cannot get the transistors to bias high enough. Q1 is around -.34 give or take and Q2 is around -4 give or take. Any ideas what might be the problem. I double checked all component values.

Hi mate,
For start can you post your voltages of q1 and q2.
Check the correct pin out of the trannies, especially q2.

Can you please post EBC voltages and pin5 of tc1044?
Also with those voltages when you engage the effect is there any fuzz out?

Q1 - E= 0      B=0  C=-.5
Q2 - C=-2.80 B=-.51 C=-.47
Pin 5 = 9.49
I was getting some very faint fuzz signal, now I am getting nothing

Your Q1 voltages are not very off.
Despite that yesterday you did post Q2 collector voltage 4.0V and now is 2.8V.
Did you change anything?
