Title: Sound Clips
Post by: junkemail86 on May 05, 2011, 01:16:56 AM
There have been a few random requests for sound samples, so I thought I'd post some that I recorded for Madbean a while back.  I think I have a few more builds that I can add onto it soon.

Just recorded and posted a bunch more.  Gear is either a G&L Tribute Invader or Tribute ASAT Special into the pedal, through a Holy Grail Reverb into a Marshall DSL401 (at a VERY low volume) recorded with a Studio Projects B1 just draped on the grill, into an M-Audio Omni Studio.  No digital effects or EQ, etc.

I really enjoyed going through these clips.  Thanks!

It was nice to hear them in the context of a song as well.

My favorite clips were the Barber LTD, Red Llama, and the Fuzz Factory (surprisingly)

jtn191, nice clip!  I never tried my bass through that one.  Sounds pretty cool though.

gtr2, i think we have very different taste in distortions.  I didn't like the LTD very much at first, although it's voiced well.  It doesn't have a whole lot of gain on tap (I usually run clean or fairly distorted).  I kicked the LTD off my board immediately because of that.  Luckily, I went back to it later and noticed that at the beginning of my chain, it stacks better than any other overdrive/distortion I have.  So if you haven't built one and and considering it, I recommend it especially if you like low gain or if you like to stack pedals.

I do stack most of the time.  I always run some kind of low gain drive, KOT or TIM.  My "clean" tone is slight overdrive.  Then I kick it up with something else for leads of heavier rhythm.

I bought some recording gear and made some soundclips today. The first is a madbean Egodriver, and then a madbean mudbunny but built similar to the blackout effectors Musket fuzz.
They are available at:

Ill probably make some more soundclips of my madbean builds in the future. If anyone particularly wants to hear the yellow shark, sunking, zombii, slow loris or aristocrat, let me know as ive built these.

I have a yellow shark, klon, zombii, and aristocrat boards still to build. I'd like to hear yours if you don't mind taking some samples. Always good to have something to compare my build too  :D

PS both the sound clips sound great!! Especially into the void

No worries, I'll do some clips of those for you this weekend. Gotta think of some good songs I can use to highlight the pedals good features.
And thanks man, I'm no shredder but I tried to make the clips decent enough!

Wow. I've never seen someone play a four neck guitar arranged in a great big x pattern. Now all I've never seen is an elephant fly.

Aw crap. Now I've seen everything!

Plus I feel bad for that time I brought an Elephant home from Africa. It was a lot of work getting him in my trunk...

See what I just did there.

Thanks for posting the Boneyard clip, sounds good. I just need to wire the pots, wait for the enclosure and fire it up.
