Sure, there's already a bunch of good fuzzes here but how about tha Big Cheese?
Schem: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/geo_great_cheddar_v6.pdf?phpMyAdmin=78482479fd7e7fc3768044a841b3e85a
actually, nm I'll just learn how to etch the board that's on that pdf
From the GGG link: 404 no results found.
I was planning on building one Big Cheese for me, does anybody have the files, please?
im interested in this fuzz recently too.
heres what i found on osh park:
https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/vh6bA8u6
alanp has the cheese source, kombination of brown source and big cheese

dre, where are you from? I could do a 3 pcb run of the feta complis project linked by luks999. One for each of us. Only makes sense though, if you're in Europe. Lukas, would be up for that?

felix, that sounds fantastic :)
is it not possible to order fabbed pcbs from osh? or do you mean shipping takes too long, too expensive?
yes im interested both in the big cheese and cheese source ;)

Osh park deliveres good quality fabbed boards, but shipping it back to the US would make no sense as it is delivered from the US...
I was thinking about the Big Cheese, so the Fuzz part only, I'm not so much interested in the overdrive section. It's 18.20$ for 3 pcbs by the way.
ok i see now what u mean, thought you fab the pcbs ;)
count me in for one ;)
also im thinkin about a doppelganger :)
I'd be in for one if that'd help you out.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And same here, I could take one. :)
yes please, count me in for one. I'm Uk based.
If we're going to do a group buy thing I would be in for 2 boards. 8) And I'm from Europe as well.
I just ordered 9 of these puppies!
As of now 7 of them are claimed:
* 1 for Luks999
* 1 for Jebus
* 2 for Muadzin
* 1 for billyblunt
* 2 for myself and a friend
dre has not responded yet, but there will at least be one more for grabs. Anyways, they way I like to handle this is like follows:
once I got the boards from OSH park (rougly 3-4 weeks), I'll send out PMs. Once I've got your address/country I can hopefully look up shipping costs and give you an exact price. One board is 6$. Once I received payment via paypal, I'll send them your way. Europe only! Just doesn't make sense to send the boards back and forth over the atlantic and will also be cheaper for our US friends to order/distribute themselves.
Hope that's cool with everyone.
nice :) thx a lot felix
very cool thx 8)
Thanks a lot, sounds good! :)

You, good sir, are a God amongst mortal men!
make sure you source and use some genuine BC549c to get it sounding just right...
thanks for the tip Ian.
update: the boards have been sent to the fab on Monday. Still at least one more board available. Get them while they're warm!

There's lots of these available on eBay, any idea if they are the real deal?
musikding.de caries them for 6 cents/piece as well. Up to now, everything I bought from them checked out

Oh, forgot to check Musikding. Thanks for the info! That's probably my favorite place to order stuff in larger quantities.
Fairchild is what u need
UPDATE: Order has been returned from the fab and is now on the way to me! should take 10-14 days.
dre has not responded yet to my pm, so it looks like there are actually still 2 boards left!
awesome felix :-) is there a build doc on osh park?

Yes, here you go:

thanks. have to admit was to lazy to look it up myself
a fuzz face with buffers and tone controls. looks like the circuit i was looking for along time :-)
The rotary switch is what makes this circuit really useful.
Plus 'cheese' mode.
Any idea do I need pots with extra long legs for this? Or does the "normal" (~12mm legs) ones do the trick?
I think the normal ones will do the trick but I would definitely put pots into the enclosure first, drop the pcb with the soldered switch in and then solder the pots legs. I think it will be close, but it should work.

its close but it does work

hey ian
you mentioning using the BC549C, but the BOM says 2n3904. is there really a huge difference?
I can't state for the the difference in sound, but they are both easily obtainable and cheap :)

There is in the pinout -- check the datasheet for each.

ah of course i knew it. and soundwise? dont believe theres so much difference

not massive but to me noticeable
i would claim to be madbean forums biggest lovetone fan and owner of their whole portfolio
bc549c is the transistor of choice, indeed across many lovetone designs
whomever chose 2n3904's was incorrect
save a few cents and build an inaccurate and, to me, sonically inferior clone if you wish
I wouldnt bother to waste my time to post my advice if it wasnt well researched, tbh.
^^^ LISTEN TO THIS GUY!^^^

thanks for your advice, youre not wasting your time
Easter bunny has been busy, I was flooded with packages today. One of them contained our boards!
I'll go ahead and PM everyone
All $ received, all pcbs sent out today.
Full disclosure: The randomness of the Austrian postal services knows no boundaries. I sent a pcb to Sweden on Thursday, which cost 3.6€. This was the price for an envelope 50-100 g.
I assumed the same price for the two boards and 50g for one, which according to the website costs 1.5 €.
Today, I was charged with 1.60 € for all envelopes to UK and NED. I ran out of envelopes so I sent out Jebus' order a few hours later at another post office, which charged me 0.80 € to FIN.
So overall, muadzin, pigeonFX and Jebus were charged a little too much. I'm sorry for that. The amount were talking about is not worth sending back due to paypal charges, otherwise I would. I hope this is cool with you guys. If not, I'll reimburse you.
???
I'm not sure if this is better or worse than my local postshop. They always make me buy a $12 courier bag to where ever, rather than a $2.50 letter! (This is why I drop things off in the postbox, these days...)

yeah austrian postal offices, they have strange price ranges and rules :S

Well that's crazy cheap. If I would send you anything in envelope it would probably cost 2-3 euros.
that's what I thought too. I told her it was going to FIN and I think she overheard it at first and told me the rate for it within Austria. When she looked at the address, she realized where it was actually going, but the rate stayed the same... ???
btw.: please let me know when they arrive
pcb arrived today 8) thx a lot felix
Will do, thanks very much for sorting all this out.

Wow. Say what you will about the price randomness, but 2 days from Austria to Finland?! That is fast! and all that for 80 cents 8)
Just to let you know the board has just arrived. Thanks again for sorting all this out, it's much appreciated.
