Title: Cupcake modded for bass guitar, change the right parts?
Post by: small fish on May 08, 2011, 08:08:31 PM
Hi,
I´ve found the Naranjito-schems on Tonepad. There was a mod explained, to turn the pedal into a bass guitar comp fx.

1)Changed output cap from 4.7uF to 1uF.
2)Changed bleeder cap from 4.7uf to 10uF. (cap connected to the diode)
3)Decrreased feedback resistor from 220k to 200k.

Because I´ve built the cupcake, I wanted to turn it into the bass-version. Here´s the parts I wanted to change, to match the tonepad-schem / to match the madbean schematic.

C6 --> 1uF elec cap (instead of the 4u7 one)
C7 --> 10uF elec cap (instead of the 4u7 one)
R8 --> 200k instead of 220k resistor (there´s only one...)
(single sided version for etching)

Did I match the right parts to change? I think so....any comfirmation / hints / clues will be appreciated.
In just a few days, I´ll get new pus for my bass (actually I hope so), I will report if it works fine...

Did you ever confirm these parts changes?  I want to build my cupcake for the bass too.

Ill be honest with you. As a bass player of 30+ years, there aren't a whole lot of audible differences between guitar and bass pedals in anything except overdrives. As far as mods on this one? Brian would be the one to ask.

I have my doubts too, Jimi.  I may still build it to the original specs anyway.
