New Jeep Day! ;D
Bought this mud bogger today, 1997 TJ 4.0L, was suppose to get it 2 weeks ago but because of some unfortunate events i could'nt clear it.. so i had to wait a bit.
One of the most enjoyable vehicule i've ever bought.... close tie with the MK3 GTI i had when younger... but the purpose is completely different for this one.

I bought it from my buddy who have a silkscreening shop, made me a killer deal to be honest.
Truck came with the hard top, soft top, hard and soft half doors, upper soft doors, 10Kpound winch (not installed yet), the 4 OEM alloy wheels with almost new winter tires.
Will be my daily driver for this winter, but i'll probably get a car in spring.... gas price is quite outrageous in Quebec (probably everywhere in CAN too :-\ )
After that it will become my offroad duty only vehicules, instead of getting a new ATV to get at my moose hunting camp... it's the same size than a side-by-side after all.
Now i need a GoPro! ;D

Very nice! I love these proper 4x4s and not the poncey ones they use for school runs here! Great colour too!
Congrats! Great looking thing
Congrats, bud! Looks really, really sharp.
Moose hunting camp? That sounds manly

Looks really nice! Now you need to mount a GoPro and make some awesome mud-slinging videos.

We don't have a big enough deer population up here to allow hunting but we have loads of moose, the favored big game hunting in our area. Hunting season is open for 2 weeks, so we build some nice camps, ours is almost a cottage, near the lake, so we use it almost all year long. Now that i'm back in my hometown and that i now have a offroad machine i'll hang a bit more up there.
Congrats! Thats awesome!
And welcome to Jeep life. Ive had my JK since 2008. They are loads of fun.
You know it stands for Just Empty Every Pocket, right?
No gut shot? How's it sound?
Wishing you many happy km
Nice ride there... lotsa fun in da mud to be had! 8)
If you're looking for a cheap but surprisingly good alternative to gopro you might wanna check out this http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2013/6/9/sj1000-at-lasta-good-cheap-action-camera.html (http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2013/6/9/sj1000-at-lasta-good-cheap-action-camera.html)
I got that, it comes with a bunch of accessories and waterproof case for something like $ 100 US. Although maybe not quite as thought through as gopro much cheaper if you want to save some dosh.
I used mine for a bit now and recorded even an amp demo with it which a number of people found decent quality and good enough sounding considering the tiny thing it is.
Here the video in case you haven't seen it:

My God. You just had to bring that up again. Sweeet Jeebus I love that toan.
Sorry I don't wanna spam stuff around it's just that this is recorded with that little action camera I recommended.
I'm pleased with that camera and did also use it for underwater footage and things; I think it's a great deal.
Glad you like the toan though... ;)

Hahaha, i did'nt knew that! When i was in high school i was dreaming of getting a CJ-5... totally love the fact that these toys are completely rebuildable and that you can mod them to infinite.... i guess the name will apply to me in a intense manner....

Sound rather good for being all stock, there's a bit of flik-flik-flik-flik-flik coming from the tires when running it loud on asphalt... but when in mellow land it's super lush sounding... got a leslie vibe to it ;)
Couple years ago i was a lot into ATV modding for mud bogging, i was building snorkel kits and clutch modification for other folks.... gut shot will come in time. ;D
Damn Fawk!!!!! That amp sound incredible... you did a build report thread of it in the Amp section right?
That VU tube is just killer, you get me by the feelings here Cooder! 8)
Nice new ride dude.
It looks awesome.
I imagine in your neck of the woods an off road vehicle is actually useful as well, not just for posing in (like the Range Rovers you see round here battling the terrain of the school run everyday) ;D

Thanks Steve, pick-ups and AWD cars gets the main vote around here, especially with the rude winters, very glad it came with the winter tires and rims.... would have probably cost around 1K$ just to get proper ones.
Did my first official real ride with it today, climbed a small mountain that is called Mount Kekeko that as a lake on top, beautiful spot.
Did this little clip while climbing up an easy steep track... no spinout just great fun :D
If you have facebook you'll be able to see it, it's on my profile wich is non-restricted.
