Title: Forest Echo (Sea Urchin)
Post by: Dulouz on October 22, 2014, 07:52:16 PM
Hey guys!

I'm in the process of building my first Madbean design. This is also my first attempt at etching a board and enclosure. I'm using Cody's methods for the most part except that I used muriatic acid and hydrogen peroxide instead of ferric chloride.

The results are not as good as I was hoping for, but probably as good as should be expected for a first try. I wasn't going for a distressed look, but that's how it turned out. Still pretty happy with it though.

The clear coat is curing now. I'll post an update when I get it wired tonight.

Are you referring to the Slow Build name?

Great job. Looks great. The forest logo is perfect for this build. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks for all the kind words guys! Here's the finished product.

Believe it or not, this is one of my cleanest builds and wire jobs to date. I tried a 3DPT daughterboard, but I couldn't get it to work. So I went old school.

I was having a heck of a job not getting the switch to pop like crazy. Threw a 1M resistor on the output and BAM (or not bam, I guess).

This thing sounds GREAT. I'm a little bummed it's going off to my bro in law for his birthday tomorrow.

Nice font and graphic.  Triangle with a circle is nice.

Great looking build! I've yet to try an enclosure etch. Head to toe awesome build!

I think next time I need to smooth out the enclosure a bit more before etching. I should probably also etch a little deeper.

Next time, right?

I don;t see anyhting wrong with that enclosure etch. Its a hell of a lot better than any enclosure etch I have EVER done!  ::)

Looks great!  I was expecting green paint, but it is autumn.

Lucky bro in law

The orange and cream scheme was a specific request from him. I would have gone with green myself.
