Title: New fuzz pedal!
Post by: stevie1556 on October 22, 2014, 09:09:53 PM
First pedal I've finished in a while, and quite pleased with it. I did a SMD fuzz board, not sure where the schematic was from though, and I'm really not a fuzz user, but all in all, it doesn't sound too bad! I'll post a gut shot tomorrow.

I powder coated the enclosure, and it was laser etched using the local place to me before I got my laser cutter. Still not sure on the red knob though.....

I'm loving it, especially the red knob! Purple might do as well, methinks...

Fuzz got to have at least one red knob.  Looks great.

Purple or black knob would look fantastic. Love this build. Steve.

I've got all the colour knobs from Tayda, so I'll see what the others look like, including purple.

Just need a stepper motor in the laser working correctly to etch the other 4 boxes, which I'll play around with when I get some spare time.

Luks999 - I have absolutely no idea as it was from an old schematic that I've had kicking around.

Here is a gut shot, not the neatest wiring in the one though.

Cheers! I must admit, I do prefer SMD more then through hole. Currently trying to make all my pedals converted to SMD. I've got about 15 spare boards if you want to try one. Also got a booster and a SHO boards that are the same size.

Absolutely no idea! If it is a bazz fuzz, it's not too bad :)

Believe it or not, the board is actually fairly spacious! Easily solder in the parts with a soldering iron without any issues, and it's very noob friendly (hence why it worked first time for me!).

I'd be interested in a board and parts! Very cool.

Yeah, I much prefer smd.  most of my recent and future builds will be smd too, though I do have a few through hole builds to finish up. They each have their pros and cons but whatever floats your boat.

Thanks for the kind offer, but I'd rather see someone new to smd try it instead. Plus I just ordered pcbs for my smd layouts of a 1 knob and a treble boost. :)

Nice.  I dig a 1590A build that has tons of space left inside.  Cool board, too.  That would be perfect for SMD noobs.  Well done.
