Here is the latest addition to the home.
Meet Poppy our new kitten!
She was a rescue case, found wandering around my sisters garden looking bedraggled (she had ticks and all sorts of other nasties). We don't know where she came from and no one in my sisters hamlet claimed her as theirs.
My sister already has two kittens and two kids under 4 to deal with, so we agreed to look after for a week while they sorted out what to do.
You can imagine what happened when the week was up.... there was no way we were going to let her leave!
Anyway, admire the cuteness in of Poppy in all her Kitteh splendour ;D

Friggin' irresistable... :)
Awwwwwww!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
I just love those things, especially at this stage where their claws are still soft. ::)
CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!
She is adorable!
While not a cat person (allergic, though I'm allergic to dogs as well and that's never stopped me), gotta say, very cute.
And rescue animals are the best. We rescued a mutt 10 years ago next week, and she's still going strong, though she's lived with my parents for the last 7.
Congrats! Kittens are the best.
beaut. good on you.
I have two Bengals; suffice to say I like cats, in fact any cute furry thing
Estrogen.........levels...........rising.......must.....punch....wall.
cute one that's for sure. congrats! I love cats so much, and for the dogs...I like the ones that mostly behave like cats hehe.
Very cute. Fair warning, they love resistors and ICs. At least mine do
I may be in love. :)
Awwww.... the vets have cleaned her up, de-ticked de-wormed de-sexed her, then?
My cat hates it when she thinks I'm paying too much attention to the builds, and not her. Cue attention-grabbing cat-distraction.
So dang cute!
My cat Russel puked up a mouse on the dining room floor the other day, which in turn caused my poor wife to puke. I'm so proud of him for being such a good hunter.

... and that made me almost squirt my cuppa tea across the keyboard and screen...
Pets... you gotta love them... ;)
It's lucky no one's around to see me making girly noises...
That is one cute little kitty, making me want one.
Thanks for the comments guys.
The other cats have accepted her now which is a relief.
When I say accepted, I mean they aren't spitting and hissing at her any more every time they see her ;D
I dig it! Too cute as the show says. We've got 3 and no kids.
I'm taking care of 5 strays right now. I built a few shelters for them for winter outside. One is a family of 3 that hung around 2 winters ago as the mother had 2 kittens. We couldn't let them die so you know how it goes. We started feeding them and a few others joined in.
We also have a opossum eating the cat food at night. Apparently you can't get rid of these things based on my research short of killing it so I guess I'm keeping one of those bastards alive too. If he gets into the shelter however I might have to pop a cap in him 8)
That kitten is adorable! I wish mine was still that tiny and cute. He's pretty cool though.

that's a good kitty! Look at it, being fuzzy like a kitty!
The sad thing with Kitties, is that when they lose the fluffy cuteness, they become evil.
Awww :D
We've been "temporarily" looking after one of our strays for over 16 years now!

Please. The cuteness is PART of the evil.
It's how they make you love them so much that you'll forgive all the evil later.
Ha ha. They also know who's boss that's for sure.
Cat's meow's are specifically for humans. They don't use the same sounds to communicate with each other.
The little b*stards are cunning enough to know what sound to use to get what they want ;D
Good to see there are so many Kitteh fans on the forum!
There is also a stray farm cat that we look after.
She has been around the farm buildings (now converted where I live) for donkeys years.
We think (calculating from when people first saw her around the farm etc.) she is around 22 years old... which makes her absolutely ancient for a cat!
I wish my wife wasn't allergic to cats... :'(
Damn! 22 for an outdoor cat is almost unheard of. That is one crafty feline.
I've always thought the key to cats is get them when they are kittens. We did ours and frankly they are game for hanging out with you all day every day and happy to purr in your lap or legs. If you wait until they are older by then they have likely been kicked, yelled at, sprayed with water, smacked, or worse, and told in many different ways they are not wanted. Gee, I wonder why they might be skittish and not affectionate ::) You know, sort of like people who get treated this way.
Cats rule! I guess I'm more of a solitary dude versus a social butterfly so that is why I get it with cats.

...and double hard! Fear any feral cat that's been around that long. It'll have your face off!

I had a cat that lived to be 21 until he disappeared into the woods one day. He was an out door cat too!. One tough cookie though. Half Siamese. Great cat, miss him
Yes this is what I have heard from another farmer (I live in quite a rural area); semi feral/farm cats are hard as nails.
She is definitely at least 20.
She used to be triple hard. Our cats are terrified of her, along with most of the local wildlife ;D
Sadly she has gone down hill past year or so. Me and my wife now have a bed for her in the house, and we have to groom her (she is too arthritic to be able to do so herself).
She still likes her grub, likes a fuss, still attacks our cats on sight etc. so she has a bit of life left in her yet ;D

May good karma come your way for taking care of her at the end :)

Bah, that's awesome.
Back in Em's younger days (she's a cross between I don't know, four breeds given the variations in her coat, and at least two of them are hunting breeds), she was chasing a prairie chicken around at the cottage, which was a lot of fun until she caught him and decided she would like to throw him up in the air a few times. She then proceeded to bring his lifeless corpse to the kitchen door to show my mom. Needless to say, whatever mom was cooking for dinner that day got dropped on the floor when she saw the dog covered in blood with a headless chicken at her feet.
What's really annoying is when you have an older cat, get a new kitten, and the older cat takes a liking to the kitten. As in it will try and train the newbie how to hunt.
Cue bringing LIVE MICE inside for the kitten to play with. Kittens being kittens, it loses interest, and the mouse gets away.
Mind you, that was the ONLY time I have EVER seen a mouse in a house I was living at, other than half a mouse on the lino.
