If I drop a buffer splitter in my Ernie Ball VP jr do I need to change the value of the pot?

No, it will work with the stock pot you have in there. I have done a couple of these now.

I did I made this layout if you want to give it a try.

I have yet to verify it but it all looks good to me. I used the 2nd out of the TL072. Nothing magical at all.
