Title: Screwdriver
Post by: wstimson on December 01, 2014, 05:34:35 PM
I've had this done for a while, but haven't boxed it because I was struggling with getting the etch/painting right.  I finally gave up and said "eff it, this is close enough" and put it together.

Great sounding effect that deserves the praise it gets.  Still haven't gotten it down to practice to really put it through it's paces, but that's coming up on Wednesday.  :)

I used the exact same jacks in my Screwdriver build and had to change one this weekend. That's how much I use it, enough to wear out a jack in two years!  ;D  It's a great circuit and your build looks really cool.

I don't know what you mean, this etch looks great! I like the simplicity of it, yet it is very effectful!

Thanks, guys.  I guess it's just a little sloppier than I was hoping for.

Anyway, I appreciate the compliments.  Excited to get this one going.

Nice one :) What germanium did you use? This effect is really dependant on that.

Mine is still on my board!

Jon hooked me up with a MP38A for it, if I recall correctly.

I have to agree--I've tried both leaky and low-leakage transistors for Q3 in mine. Both sound good but the leakier have the edge to my ears.
