Title: Transformer Tabs

I'm trying to build my first pedal, and it's a Retrograde Fuzz. The transofmer has tabs which fit nicely through the holes, but I'm worried if I actually bend them to hold the thing in place one of them will make contact with something other than ground. What's recommended here?

solder them in place and trim off the excess leads?
