So I kind of like the idea of one-knob pedals. I know about one-knob fuzzes and boosters, but I was thinking of trying something a little different that might work unexpectedly well with just one knob. Anyone have any suggestions of some one knob designs, or circuits that work well having some of the controls fixed with a trimpot inside leaving just one on the outside?
I'm about to build a NomNom when Brian gets them back in stock, so I'm covered on the phaser front probably.
Good Ol' Phase90!

Yea that's what the NomNom is. Just waiting on the PCBs to be back in stock!
how about a stacked potentiometer sort-of thing. Make a 2 knobber look like a 1 knobber. Not sure if this is doable with a standard enclosure.
Rub-a-dub reverb ;D

Oh! sorry, did'nt saw that part in your OP, a cocked wah pedal can be fun to.
Rej
Afterlife, with either Sustain or Level as a trimpot.
A dimmed gain Big Muff Pi with tone bypass and only a volume knob.

My vote is for a fixed wah. Good call, Rej.

I've got reverb on the amp, but much prefer this pedal!
In addition to the above: SHO, Decimator.
Magnavibe with a trimmer for the depth.

That's a winner! I have a Violet Ram clone with a tone bypass switch and it works really well.
I think a static wah is a good idea.
You might be able to implement an expression pedal input as well to get standard wah functionality if required.
What about the cupcake. Or maybe a Little Angel chorus with a fixed depth or rate.

This would definitely work. The Little Angel only sounds good with Depth maxed anyway.
Some great ideas!
I know this is probably sacrilegious around here, but I'm not a huge fuzz fan. I've got the fixed wah covered with a BYOC envelope filter.
I quite like the Magnavibe and Little Angel ideas!
Any other hidden gems?

Does anyone make a PCB for the Magnavibe? Or something very similar?

I build mine on vero from IvIarks layout using LED/LDR combo with a light shield made from a McDonald's straw and some black tape. Worked perfectly first time and it sounds fantastic.
I've bought a few PCBs from pedalparts.co.uk recently and I've been pretty pleased with them. In fact I got some in the post today. I'd not noticed the Magna before but then he does so many not it's not surprising really!

Yea it looks good. Might have to try that one!
Just read my own post on the Tagboard blog: Looks like a Burger King or KFC straw might be better at they're a smaller diameter. I used a normal red LED with the head bent at 90 degrees so that it pointed straight at the LDR, which was fairly randomly sourced on eBay.

I saw that post when Googling it actually ;)
I've always felt the RM Axis Fuzz should have a fixed volume control (maxed out).

Indeed and you can even bypass the toggle switch and keep it in bass mode, that's where it sounds de the best.
Vox repeat percusion.
