Title: Doombutter LED won't light up at all...
Post by: Cortexturizer on December 24, 2014, 06:06:58 PM
Looks like I'm running through a rough patch lately, nothing I build seem to be working from the get-go. Now I have a Doombutter whose LED won't light at all, that is the envelope is not working. I have perfect voltages on the ICs, that I've cross-checked with some of the builds on the forum. I can get the perfectly expected fuzz tone, as soon as I blend in some delay the delay sounds very distorted but the controls work as they should.
i haven't tried another pt2399 yet but soon will.
I am concentrating on my LED lighting up. Any ideas what to check?

Thanks

Could the LED be backwards?

No :D what kind of voltages can I expect on the led pins when not hitting the strings at all, zero?

Ok solved. Had a bad junction on the board, it was etched and somehow it wasn't working on that particular spot...although it looks like a strong copper line. Whatevs. It works, sounds perfect. Loving this!
