So I dont have any 15v regulators. Would it be possible to build a 15v charge pump using zeners to get the input voltage down to 7.5v or less? or would that be risky?

Oh, and I'm also wondering if there are any mods out there that I'm missing?

Just wait to get the regulator, don't try and hack it, it'll only end in tears.

You can use a zener to elevate a smaller voltage regulator, that would be possible... but i'd still wait.
