Title: Bax box
Post by: Bufferz on December 26, 2014, 03:10:57 AM
I have been working with the 3 band bax tonestack paired with overdrive on the breadboard I and wanted something a little more portable for my testing purposes so I built this up:

The pink knobs are rotary switches toggling high pass filter at input, clipping diodes, and center frequency for mids respectively. There are level controls for each band as well as adjustable band"width" for each band. There is a toggle for the cap in feedback loop as well as a toggle between two different gain pot values and a headroom control adding adjustable resistance between diodes and signal. Overall it was a fun build I may still add a 3dpt toggle for effect bypass

That's a clever, cool idea.

Love this, would'nt mind seeing a pic of the actual guts. :)

Do you have a link or ressources to that 3 band bax with frequency width?  Much interested into that.

There's nothing embarassing with that gut shot, it does imply LOTS of off board wiring, it's also a utility built, better keep the wire loose instead of going uber neat in the case you want to perform some mods afterward. ;)

Thanks for the schemo! :)
