I've never put a battery in a pedal (1.5 years of building). I have a few metal battery holders. What's your favorite way to secure the clip to the enclosure?

I use decent (not crappy) hook and loop Velcro strip.
Also, a small rivet through the enclosure or 3m foam tape.
I have some industrial Velcro I may use. Anyone ever use JB Weld?

3M VHB clear 2-sided tape works pretty well

JB Weld. Just a little bit of it will hold on of these nicely: http://www.taydaelectronics.com/9v-battery-holder-6.html

JB Weld works great for me. I scratch up the bottom of the metal clip and the enclosure where the clip will go with coarse sandpaper. Then clean with a little isopropyl alcohol. I put a little piece of wood in the clip to simulate the 9V battery. I found that this makes a big difference in how well the JB Weld holds. I use the JB Weld quick set. It says it sets in 4 hours, but I let it set overnight.
This is the battery clip I use. http://smallbear-electronics.mybigcommerce.com/9-volt-battery-clip/
It has 2 small holes in the bottom. I put the JB Weld in the enclosure, then I push the clip down in it hard enough to make the JB come up through the 2 holes a little. I don't have any pictures to post, but I can take some and post if you want.
Hope this is helpful.
Dave
Thanks Dave, very helpful

Nice tip... thanks
I have never built a pedal with a bat but I am sure one day I will be asked to.

For securing 9v batteries I use a heavy duty, adhesive backed velcro and a piece of bicycle inner tube as a battery sock, velcro on the sock and mating velcro on the enclosure, holding up well.

I like that, very cool. What's encasing, or going on with the battery clip wires in the pic?
That's slick. What size inner tube?

The battery clip's made from a dead Duracell battery, there's 1/8" Techflex around the leads, used it on the LED leads as well. http://www.parts-express.com/techflex-1-8-expandable-sleeving-25-ft-black--082-300
There's a guy in Germany who manufactures his own sleeving for pimping out PC's, much nicer colours and better looking going by the pictures.
Apparently they're taking a break at the momment, moving production, keep checking back on them, very cool stuff.

I haven't put a battery in a pedal for a LONG time, but this is what I use too. It holds very well.
