Title: 1N5819 in place of 1N5817
Post by: morkmango on January 07, 2015, 03:03:04 AM
On the Mangler PCB, can I use a 1N5819 in place of the 1N5817?

Thanks

Yes. The 5819 is always interchangeable for the 5817 (the reverse is not true). The difference is their reverse breakdown voltage.

Yes. The 5819 is always interchangeable for the 5719 (the reverse is not true). The difference is their reverse breakdown voltage.

Jon, careful - he asked about replacing a 5817, not 5719. I'm having some trouble finding a datasheet for the 5719, so your advice may still be fine, but you may want to clarify if that was just a typo.

Why not a 5818?

Cheers

Re: the 5819 over the 5818...

The local electronics store by my house has the 5819 in stock, but not the other 2.

It's all sorted though, I ended up finding a spare 5818 at home!

Thanks for help.

Typos. I meant that the 5819 can always replace the 5817.
