Title: Should tommorow be NGD?
Post by: Luke51411 on February 07, 2015, 04:20:28 AM
I spotted a 1992 mim tele on craigslist with 1997 American standard pups. The selling price is $250 which seems like a steal though I know early 90s fender stuff can be hit or miss. The guitar looks to be in very good condition. If I buy this guitar, would it be something I would be able to at least get my money back if I decide to sell it? Any thoughts are appreciated.

250 is a pretty solid price for an MIM with upgrades.  Provided it's not too heavily worn you shouldn't have any trouble making your money back.

Early 90s MIMs are usually pretty good, the only bad experience I had with one was a crack in the neck pocket.  That, and I find that the bursts from that time don't transition well, excess black on the edges, which generally means they are probably four or five part bodies, but that's just cosmetic.
