Title: Black Horse Effects "The Beast" Weird Issue
Post by: playpunk on February 09, 2015, 03:17:58 PM
Hello All:

A quick tech help question - I recently completed my Black horse Effects "The Beast" a dual OD pcb with a Maxon od-820 going into a Klon. The Maxon side works perfectly, no problems whatsoever. The klon side works perfectly as well, aside from one minor issue: When I turn the gain all the way off, there is static/hiss that isn't present any other time.

I have no idea what is causing this issue - I am pretty sure that all of my values are correct. As soon as there are diodes in the circuit, the hiss goes completely away. The solder joints look fine, but I will try to reflow later.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew

I went through my build at length. I am having this issue with different charge pumps, and only at minimum and maximum gain levels. It is almost like the gain and clean sides of the dual pot aren't grounded at max/min. Thoughts?
