Title: Moodring - adjusting Dwell sweep
Post by: jingyjangy on February 17, 2015, 04:27:59 PM
Just recently built a Moodring which sounds fantastic. A really great & useful pedal. I would, however, like to adjust the range of the Dwell control. Currently the Dwell control becomes fairly intense early on. How can I decrease the amount of Dwell/Depth and effectively increase the range of subtler Dwell/Depth settings?

The build doc dwell pot calls for a linear 50k pot.  Take a look at this image:

As you can see, this graph shows the relationship between the change in resistance and how much you need to turn the knob to get to that resistance. Since you state that the dwell control becomes fairly intense early on, you want to find a potentiometer that will allow you more subtle variation in resistance early on (let's say 60% knob rotation). Looking at the graph, which pot do you think will allow you to do this?
Note that there are several ways to adjust the resistance:knob rotation relationship. This is just one simple way.
