Howdie-
been a while since I posted a build, especially one that's not smd. ;-)
Here's an egghead that I built for a friend. He liked mine, (even without the knobs), and I had an extra pcb that I bought a while back. Thought I'd build it up and give it to him as a surprise.
Finished it last month, just got around to putting pix together.
Powder coat, graphics, and laser etch by me.
Great circuit! The new layout looks even better.

That's about as nice as they get.
Very nice, and +100 for laser etching!
Looks better than retail. That laser etching is perfect.

That is so impeccable!
Looks like engraved polished stone, so neat and tidy, super tasty!

Amazing! Love the powder coating and etch dude, looks proper!
Love that black sparkle. What poder did you use??
Thanks guys! Fun build.
Powder coat is columbia coating's prismatic black, its a single stage polyester if I recall. Really something in sunlight.
Their powder is usually pretty good, they sell in smaller quantities than 1lb, and the service is really good.
I've been doing laser etching for a while now and I'm still always a little nervous of how its going to come out. You learn some tricks here and there but with a machine that others are using it can be a bit chancy. Stripping powder isn't fun.

You just broke my heart, Billy :(. I'm getting concerned that these damn swiss-cheese PCB's are gonna become a trend.
But seriously, nice build, bud. I dig the color and the artwork.
Great build!
How did you attach the ribbon to the pots? I mean , besides solder. ;)
Beautiful build man!
What font is that used?

Thanks Mark! I think I broke a bunch of hearts, for various reasons. :-\ None intentionally though...
I finished almost all my Swiss cheese pcbs last month, except I had to buy a few ic, pots, and boxes. So a few more coming soon, but some smd in the cue too. Pif'd away all my remaining thru hole parts and a few of those hole-y pcbs.
I have the awesome stm800 kit to build once my tube sockets show up and then it's all smd..!

Thanks! I have the pcb mount style pots, with longer leads. I bend them into a 3/4 loop, and do the same with the wires. The two outside leads are looped outside, and the center one towards the inside, which buys me a little clearance between wires. I'll try to include pics on the next one, since this build is gone.

I'm so glad to hear it, the dark side is quite nice actually! You did a fine job on your build. I'll have to move my demo video up in the cue...
Very, very nice.
Thanks Harry!
I just had lunch with my friend yesterday, he said this bumped a wampler off his board. Pretty stoked to hear that!
