Title: Building 2 reverbs together. Do I need to double the power section?
Post by: brand0nized on February 25, 2015, 04:24:58 AM
Hey all!

I'm putting together a circuit that combines two Rub-a-Dub Deluxe's together with an FX loop in between.

The individual circuits each have a power section connecting to the dual opamp and such. In my combined circuit, do I need to double the power section, one for each reverb?

EDIT:

Ah I see what you mean. Power draw is going to be quite large so it might need the bigger reg, otherwise I don't see why you couldn't use a single power section.

The regulator provides +5V for the belton bricks, correct? So do you mean I need a regulator that outputs more current?

Won't hurt to use a L7805 reg that can handle a lot more current. Gotta think that a brick is essentially 3x PT2399s, so that's 6x PTs which are not lightweight in terms of current draw.
