Hello out there
This is my Zirconia Comp w tilt eq and external eq bypass switch. Controls are volume, eq and compression.

It would have been a little easier to build this w side mounted i/o jacks but i'm on a mission to one day have a 125 board w all top mounts, inspired by JakeFuzz's board and someone else who posted a 125 board here a while back. Very cool.
Cheers!
And that's why I need to have this one too.. Payday is Friday!!!

Shining like a Diamond.
So ..... how does it sound?
Looking great! Interested to try that one aswell :)
Beautiful layout. The space between components makes me feel calm somehow :)
Looks great. I am definitely in to trying this layout out.

i would say it sounds transparent, yet gritty. fizzy, and yet smooth.
kidding of course. I think it sounds great, but then i love optical compressors. the eq control is useful and i could see how the bypass switch could be handy. there is a lot of volume & compression on tap with this one.

Thank you, gentlemen!
Sweet Build! I too am on a 125B top mount pedalboard mission...

yes, i like the idea a lot!
BTW, the 3pdt pcb you see pictured is going to be available as well, and i guess it's verified now too. the bottom side that faces down towards the lugs is where the silkscreen is. i put labels for the I, gnd, 9v, and O on the side facing you too for convenience, and managed to label them backwards. the silk on the other side is correct though. ::)
fantastic stuff, love it!
have no interest in comps though...but can admire the effort and the design. I too love the component layout and the space between, it reminds me of old MXR pedals...

+1
The whole build has a zen quality to it.
I don't usually have much interest in compressors but the diam... zirconia is a nice one, much more natural than some and more like a studio type than an mxr or whatever. An always on type thing but with a bit more of an actual effect than only noticing when it's off, worth trying if you've ignored compressors before.
Interested in this as well when it comes up on the site :)
Great layout Keffee and as always great built also!!!
I am very anxious for this project more than anything else!!!!
Does it sound light and airy? ;) Me like!
Had to load it in Safari to get the pictures to load though -- wouldn't come up in Opera for some reason...
Great layout!
+1 for central europe
Haber of the Dashers has done it again!
Feng Shui in component layout is masterful stroke!
Many people feel calm looking at your PCBs that is an accomplishment!
Must build...
This makes me want it even more. Nice job on the layout and the guts are so tidy!
Awesome.
Looking forward to building one of these bad boys up.
I loved the diamond comp when I had a chance to try one out extensively (repair for customer).

Have I found a use for the other 3 optical comps I have built? No.
Am I going to build this anyway? You better believe it :)
When are these showing up in the store, El duderino?

No worries, I should have ordered it right away when I saw it. I'll keep an eye for it when you get more. :)
Is there any option/mods/changes to make a bass version of this?

Shouldn't be any need. The pedal's full range, the tilt eq can make it low-passed, and the ratio is pretty low so you shouldn't ned a blend. Have you heard the original? Is there anything about it you would want to change?

The Tilt's mid point is not optimal for bass, however...
There was a separate guitar and bass version offered by Diamond, should be possible to build both on the same board and the mods to do so will be included in the build doc, externally all you should need is a charge pump.
Yea I've never heard one, but since they made a bass version I thought (if easy enough) it would be cool to have a switchable version in the same pedal. Sounds good Scruffie!

hi tron, the new build doc contains the bass components. it's now on the lectric-fx website, or you can download it right here (http://lectric-fx.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ZiRCONiA-Compressor.pdf).
Sweet.
This is the layout I'd love to buy also. Great work...
Steve.
