Title: Deadringer 2 and irf510
Post by: jtaormina on March 22, 2015, 11:33:37 PM
On the deadringer2, Anyone fit the irf510 mosfets into a 1590bb without cutting the heat sinks off? I think they might be too tall. Thought I'd check before I hack them off.

You can bend them off to a 90 deg. angle if you do not want to cut them off.

Whether you bend the heat sinks or cut them, I can confirm that they won't fit if you don't alter them in some way.

Thanks guys.  What did you cut them with regular hacksaw? I don't want to damage them. I only have two at the moment.  I was thinking I could clamp them in my bench vise and gently saw them off.

i used my wire butter / plier i also use for the wires of my pedals ;)
for me it was sufficient to cut them above the hole, so the chance is very low to damage them
