Found this quite interesting. I've known a few... LOL ::)
Can't help but feel that someone that fulfils all those criteria at once would be a horrible human being in general.
So true, especially the part about playing really loud and obnoxious at a guitar store, but of course, never buying anything.
The only part I disagree with is the term "cork sniffers". It has nothing to do with money or expensive gear. A cork sniffer in the guitar world is one who "hears" things that are acoustically and physically impossible. Warm-analog-brightness for example.
The guys I love are those who use the "Tone is in the fingers" argument for everything. "What is the difference in the sound of a single coil pickup and a PAF humbucker?" "Well, you know, tone all comes from the fingers. Give (insert a famous guitarist here) two guitars one with the humbucker and another with the single coils and they will sound the same. Because tone is in the fingers. THE FINGERS!"
I get it the fingers have something to do with it, but equipment also affects the tone.
Haha LOL billstein
And yes, I agree
