Title: What can I build with these? Germ Transistors
Post by: Beedoola on April 24, 2015, 07:03:18 PM
I have 7 germanium trannies from previous projects that didn't work or I can't remember why.

What can I built with these?

(2) - 2N404A

(2) - Hitachi 2SB77

(2) - 2N404A

(1) - only markings are on top and read: 1N 1C GD

(1) - 3AX31C

Thanks.

Lots of stuff. Many vintage fuzzes. Measure the gains and leakages.

Rangemaster, that will take care of one of your transistor and doesn't need to be one with a very high hfe to give you a usable circuit, bread board to your hearts content.

Read this article http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/ffselect.htm (http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/ffselect.htm)
Part numbers don't matter as much as gain and leakage. Measure that first and then we can figure out what you can build.
