Hey guys,
I asked the question "what tune im playing at 4:45 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO4Gx_RLBhE&t=4m46s)" in the arcadiator sound demo in the build report section of this forum and thought this would be a bit of fun to ramp it up to have a small prize.
No ones got it yet. 1 guess per person (1 guess total, here, facebook, or the build report section). Only hint is its a game from the 80's
Good luck!
Paul

Weird, the "4:45" bit isn't showing up on Tapatalk for me, only on the desktop version. Oh well!
No worries, have another go :D
Not a chance of me getting it -- I was always more into C64 then IBM-PC gaming. The number of minutes I've spent with a console controller in hand in my lifetime is probably less than an hour.
Prince of Persia?
The c64 was around in the 80's Alan?
^ ok thats the last hint :D
Hmmm...I'll guess Double Dragon.
Ghosts n' Goblins?
Zack McKraken?
Zelda?
Excitebike
space invaders, that must be
Contra
ET.
Last Ninja
I was going to say Ghost 'n Goblins but I've heard it again and I don't think I am right.

That was my pick earlier but not sure if it is correct. It "sort of" sounds like it?
i want to say it sounds like the batman game. My uncle used to play this constantly!
I'm taking a wild shot in the dark ( I was doing other things in the 80's lol) but maybe contra? (this was from a shout out to a friend)
back to the future ii
Golden axe

got it! The Master of Magic!
My elder cousin had this one, but I never played it.
I searched for Ghost n Goblins' theme composer (Mark Cooksey) and found this interview. He mentions Rob Hubbard, searched his work and tadá!
Here's also the original piece on which Hubbard based his composition:

When i was 8 i recorded that tune with a tape deck so i could play it back whenever i wanted. It's my favorite game tune of all time.
Rob Hubbard wrote a lot of music for the Commodore, he was a master at it. A couple of others people might know are Thing on a Spring, and Commando.
You guys...your resourcefulness never ceases to amaze me. That was $20 well earned Adan. PM me when you know what you want from the store ;-)

Many thanks Paul! It's an honour :) Have to say that the melody is catchy.
