Title: My Timmy clone is picking up a radio station...
Post by: brand0nized on May 18, 2015, 08:05:12 PM
So my Timmy clone picks up a radio station as the gain knob turns up. This is with the lid on. Without the lid, the radio station isn't picked up as strongly, but makes a hum whenever an audio signal is passed through the circuit (hum when strumming, no hum when muting guitar).

Here's a gut shot.

The layout is from tagboard and I've built it verbatim.

Help please :(

I would start by checking to be sure that everything that is supposed to be grounded is, could be a weak ground connection and the enclosure is acting as an antenna or something like that. Are the jacks tight? Check for cold joints, Posting voltages on ICs and transistors may help.
